Stronger together
Noah is fortunate to have the assistance of the following invaluable partners:
- National Association of Child Care Workers (NACCW): A partner organisation that trains Noah care givers to understand and provide better for the needs of children.
- Department of Social Development (KZN): Provides funding to 6 Arks in KwaZulu-Natal and also works closely with Noah to ensure grants are received by families in need.
- Department of Social Development (Gauteng): Provides money to support 5 Arks and an Early Childhood Development Centre and provides stipends to volunteers.
- Habitat for Humanity: Built houses in the Kwa Ximba community for families caring for orphaned children. Noah’s role was to mobilise and organise the community.
- The Rob Smetherham Bereavement Service for Children (KZN): Provide psychosocial support by training Noah volunteers in bereavement counselling (through play therapy) to allow children to cope with the trauma of losing their parents.
- MySchool/MyVillage: Individuals buy goods in shops such as Woolworths and a part of the proceeds go to Noah. Go to MySchool to apply for your card and start helping.
- Ntataise (Gauteng): Training provided to Ark personnel in Early Childhood Development to develop cognitive, emotional and motor skills.
- Project Build (KZN): Partnered with Noah when construction of centres were needed in KZN.
- Harvard University (initiative led by Charles Deutsch): A programme that trains school based mentors who develop relationships with young people for the transfer of knowledge and skills around HIV and AIDS.
- Rotary International (SA): Supports Arks in areas of water provision, sanitation, literacy programmes, training and upgrading facilities – in line with Rotarian principles and procedures.
- Artist Proof Studio: Art literacy programme designed to encourage communication and the use of art for therapy.
- Big Little Caravan of Joy: Sarina Condello runs a winter holiday programme with Noah celebrating performance and drama with our children.
- Umlungu Consulting: The web company who designed, built and maintain this website – free of charge.
- Global Giving: Noah is supported in the USA through the Global Giving website. Through this web portal international donors are able to contribute to our work in South Africa. This makes it possible for anyone, anywhere in the world to be a part of our network of care. 16 March 2010 was Bonus Day at GlobalGiving!
