Noah’s senior staff

Noah’s team is made up of extremely capable and committed people. Although they are a non-profit organisation, Noah is run like a business. Each staff member has a specific job description and measurable goals to work toward.

Karen Krakowitzer (Chief Executive Officer)

Karen comes from a solid corporate background, having last worked in telecommunications for many years, and has a strong combination of people, operational and financial skills. She completed her B.Compt (Accounting) Honours degree and subsequently involved herself in numerous management and development courses and programmes. Karen adopts an integrous and dynamic approach to leadership and is dedicated to achieving the vision Noah strives toward. She aims to do this by improving relationships, systems, processes and efficiencies.

Clayton Angus (Chief Financial Officer)

Clayton is a qualified chartered accountant with many years of corporate experience in various types of industries. He joined Noah in May 2008 as the chief accountant and has recently been promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Zama Khubeka (Programmes Director )

Zama has vast experience in Project Management and Planning, Facilitation, Training and Development as well as Strategic Management. She is very passionate about innovation and change. She believes these drive people to perform to the best of their abilities while bringing efficiency and competitive advantage to organisations. She has previously worked in Government Departments, Non Profit Organisations, in Consulting and one in of the largest tertiary Institutions in South Africa. Zama has a Bachelor of Social Science degree, Project Management certificate and is currently studying towards an MBA. She is a registered and accredited Assessor and Moderator.

Rachel Compaan (Manager: Program Development)

Rachel is a qualified social worker with more than 20 years experience with children who have suffered trauma. She joined Noah in May 2007 and has been an invaluable asset as we have built our OVC activities including peer education, computer literacy, Early Childhood Development, community outreach and bereavement counselling.

Sikhumbuzo Thabede (Manager:Programmes Implemantation)

Skhu came to Noah with a strong passion for human development. He holds a National Diploma in Business Management and currently studying a Diploma in Youth Development with UNISA with an ambition to pursue an MBA after the completion of his studies with UNISA. He is a skilled and determined leader with strong coordination, communication, financial and human development skills which he acquired through a five year service while working in the Public Sector (Department of Social Development and Department of Health) where he was employed as a Senior State Accountant. His shift to the NGO sector was inspired by the social challenges that he himself experienced while growing up in the underdeveloped communities.

Nomxolisi Malope(Manager: Monitoring & Evaluation)

Nomxolisi Malope is a dynamic thinker with creative ideas and experience to impact change in her society. Committed, passionate and full of energy Nomxolisi has left a mark wherever she has worked and prides herself with her work. She holds a Master’s Degree in Research Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand and has worked at the Human Sciences Research Council, the Democratic Nurses Organisation of South Africa and has worked on various projects with a number of organisations as a research consultant including the City of Jo’burg Municipality, Olive Leaf, and the CSVR. Nomxolisi has also published and presented papers in International and National journals and conferences.

Katie Andrews (Manager: Relationship and Communication)

Katie joined Noah after several years in the Events and then Telecoms industry, where her primary focus was sales. This experience is a great addition to the Noah team as they strive to leverage funding to continue to make a difference in the lives of Orphaned and Vulnerbale children. Katie has strong relationship and administrative skills. She is extremely passionate about South Africa and the fact that they need to pull together to secure a sustainable future for all, especially for their children. Noah’s vision is one that she feels connected with and is constantly inspired by. She is in the process of completing her LL.B through UNISA.

Nathi Mabaso (HR Generalist)

Nathi Mabaso joined Noah in January 2005 as a Training Coordinator. He was one of the first members of the Human Resources Department when it was established in 2007. Nathi has a Human Resource Management Diploma from Natal Technikon and is currently studying towards B-Tech at Durban University of Technology. He is committed to making the world a better place and plays an important role in motivating and encouraging our staff, to ensure that they are comfortable and also work towards realizing Noah’s vision. Nathi is the Human Resources Generalist.

Melini Moodley (Financial Manager)

Melini Moodley joined Noah in 2008 as an accountant. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accounting in 2003 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006. She has since been promoted to the position of Financial Manager, providing support to the CFO and managing a dedicated team of 5 Finance staff. She is also involved in supporting the other departments at Noah, primarily the HR department. Melini enjoys implementing internal controls, processes and systems and maintaining them. She manages the internal and external audit processes at Noah to ensure that they run efficiently, ensures that deadlines are met and service delivery within the Finance team is of a high standard and supports other departments by designing simple solutions to complex problems by using her flair for Microsoft Excel. With strong interpersonal skills, Melini believes in leadership by example and that the highest calling one has is to uplift and serve others. She also runs her own online personal ministry and enjoys motivating others using her flair for creative writing. She is currently studying for a Postgraduate qualification in Taxation.
